- GENERAL SAFETY STANDARDS -
- As Amended April 2nd, 2002 -
Rule 1852 States... "An employer shall train a prospective
operator before the employee's assignment as an operator of a crane."
Rule 1853 States... "An employer
shall test the knowledge and ability of an employee before authorizing him or her to operate a crane."
Rule 1854 States... "An employer shall provide an employee with a permit
to operate a crane only after the employee meets the requirements" [as stated previously].
As part of the current OSHA-required
"Frequent - Periodic Mandatory Checklist", crane inspections are to include a check for a "Proper
License."
